In the spring of 2001 I made a pokemon site, it was actually just a walkthrough for red, blue and yellow. I used Netscape 4 to make it. I then totaly gave up on that site and until autumn didnt think of it again. That autumn my friend let me borrow Zelda Oracle of Ages in fact we did a swap for a couple of weeks. I swapped my N64 and all the games for it. I knew at that time I would love it cause it was Zelda. I completed it, but then I wanted Seasons. I asked my dad for christmas for the two games and that morning I got them. After I completed them both I remembered the pokemon walkthrough and decided to make one for zelda. After i did Ages in early spring I tried putting it up on the net. I didnt actuallyu know how at the time. I tried using loads of website publishers, but they didnt work. I didnt at the time know what a url was. Previously in the year I had set up an email acount with yahoo. I found geocities and uploaded the walkthrough with the terrible background. I didnt know that you needed an index page, so I set one up with a worse background than the walkthrough. At the time it was called Zelda's World. One day I got a message saying that I geocities would be inaccessable for a few days. On the day I was able to access the file manager i went there. There was an error message saying that I couldnt use the uk file manager because i had geocities accounts in other countries. I thought this was odd as I only used the uk geocities. I looked in the US geocites and 5 of my files were there. Luckily all my files were saved to disc, but I got annoyed. I could still see my site which was weird. I then closed my Hogfatherdw account. It said that my account would be deleted in three months, but that I could not access it anyway. I then set up anoter account with Yahoo. I was about to use geocities when i came across Angelfire. I signed up with Angelfire instead. I found out about affiliates and asked a few people to affiliate with me I got 3 acceptances and 1 refusal. The next day I saearched on google for zelda sites and affiliation I found quite a lot. Only a handful replied and some of them were no's. 4 months on I checked to see if my old site was still ther it was, for some reason geocities hadnt deleted it you can still see it at http://uk.geocities.com/hogfatherdw/index.html I then experimented with tables and frames the frames didnt work well so I stuck to tables. At about that time the name changed to Temple of the Forest. I then started using music. I decided to change host because I didnt like angelfire. I went to hostultra. They claimed they had no ads, but there are quite a few. I still use them as they allow unlimited space and bandwidth. I then wanted a domain name. Unfortunately there seems to be no such thing as a free domain name. I wanted to use .tk but you have to be 18+ to use that so I used .cjb.net I am now reusing frames, but they dont work too well. The number of affilliates I have has increased quite dramatically.
